So... What is MUN anyway?
- MUN stands for Model United Nations, which is an activity organised at schools and universities worldwide. The students, called "Delegates", represent countries in the United Nations and discuss global issues.
What will I do?
- You will be given a country to represent in one of our Committees. You will then have to find out what your nation thinks about the issue. When you come to the conference, you will have to debate solutions with the other delegates.
What Committees are there?
- ECOSOC, UNSC, UNHCR. Follow the links to read more.
How do I sign up?
- Go to our "Delegate Registration" page, enter your details, voila!
How much does it cost?
- It costs £25 for students outside Kingston University. For Kingston University students it's free, but a £10 deposit has to be paid in advance, which will be returned to participating delegates at the end of the conference.
How do I pay?
- Go to the "Fees and Payment" page, and follow the instructions.
When do I have to pay?
- The payment deadline is 15 March. If you pay after this, we cannot guarantee your spot, and the money is then not refundable.
When do I receive my country allocation?
- The allocations will be sent out depending on whether you registered in round 1 or round 2 of registration. The first allocations will come out on 16 March.
I have not yet received confirmation that I can attend..?
- You can. We only rejected one application in this entire process. You should have received an email. Please check your spam filter.
Can you help me with getting a visa?
- No. Sorry.
Do you provide financial aid?
- No. Sorry.
I am a KU student and I attended MUNKi, how can I get my £10 deposit back?
- You can collect your £10 deposit from Kingston University Students' Union's Finance Office, based on Penrhyn Road Campus. It is just above the bar and shop, ask anyone who works in the shop/bar where it is if you can't find it.
- Collect it from Wednesday 24th April 2013 onwards, between 10am-4pm.
- Ensure your name is on the lists of delegates below which attended to get your deposit back. If it is not on the list please email: [email protected]
